Ready for summer

The Olsons are ready for summer! We have been going a little stir crazy waiting for spring to arrive. Despite what the groundhog predicted, it doesn't look like we will be seeing spring for a while still. It is a challenge to stay indoors with a toddler, so we have been doing our best to get out of the house as much as possible. We take regular trips to the Minnesota Zoo, Children's Museum, and library. Even a trip to Target is a welcomed outing.

Last weekend we went to the Como Park Conservatory to get a little taste of summer. We enjoyed looking at all of the beautiful flowers blooming in the sunken garden. We are definitely ready for warmer weather and a chance to get out and play in the yard. We are excited to see Evelyn explore the outdoors, run and play in the grass, and go to the beach!

This weekend, our trip out of the house was to the pool. It had been awhile since Evelyn had gone swimming (probably not since her baby swim class last summer) so I thought that I should take her to the pool to get her used to the water again. So I put her in her new swimming suit and off we went to open swim at one of the local middle schools. There were only a few other families there, so we nearly had the entire place to ourselves. Evelyn was a little unsure when we first got in the water, but after 5 minutes she was ready to splash, kick, and blow bubbles. Here are a few pictures of Evelyn in her cute swim suit before we left for the pool.
