"I'm not a baby anymore...I'm a big girl!"

Evelyn has officially announced that she is not a baby anymore. She wants to do everything herself and is eager to be independent. She is very helpful around the house and enjoys helping us clean, put clothes away, bake, and do yard work. She has said good-bye to her cloth diapers and hello to pull-ups and underwear. She is able to pedal her tricycle and her steering skills are improving. Today she told me she wanted to drive the car...

Although Evelyn has definitely become a "big girl" in many ways... little does she know she will always be our baby.

Spring is here?

It is hard for me to believe that spring has arrived in March...and we can only hope that this gorgeous weather will stay! Evelyn is having a wonderful time playing outside in the fresh air. The hats, mittens, and boots are tucked away and the outside toys have come out of hibernation.

Evelyn spends much of her time outside...
playing with buckets and water
coloring the front walkway with chalk
being pulled in her big wagon (or speeding down the driveway with her daddy)
pulling her babies in her little wagon
riding her tricycle
picking up sticks
playing at the playground
tromping around the yard
and going on stroller rides

In need of some green therapy!!

Every year around February or March, when it feels like winter will never end, I have a strong need for some 'green therapy.' This is when we take a trip to the Como Conservatory to immerse ourselves in luscious plants and balmy environment. Smelling the beautiful flowers and being bathed in the rich sunlight gets me excited for spring and makes the end of winter a little more tolerable.
