8 months

Our baby girl is 8 months old. She is on the move, happily crawling where ever she pleases. This makes for one happy baby. She loves exploring her world and playing with her sisters favorite toys. :)

At 8 months old, Eleanor...

is crawling forward, backward, and every which way.

sleeping 6 hour stretches at night, but still waking to eat/snuggle.

feeds herself finger foods and loves to eat.

claps when excited.

babbles and says "mama."

chews on everything and drools constantly.

is most content when she is playing beside her big sister.

loves splashing in the bathtub.

Merry Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. Christmas Eve was spent with my parents and our friends, Libby, Dan, and Eli. Christmas morning began promptly at 7:30 am with the girls digging into the gifts left by Santa. We spent the rest of the morning with Ari's parents and siblings and then spent the afternoon with Ari's uncle, aunt, and cousins.

3 years

The first thing Evelyn said on the morning of her birthday was "I am 3 right now!" Shortly after that comment she started talking about how she was going to be 4 soon...WAIT, SLOW DOWN Evelyn. Don't be in too big of a hurry to grow up. We are enjoying you right now. Our big 3 year old girl.

Evelyn had her 3 year appointment with her pediatrician. She weighed 30 pounds and was 3 feet and 1 inch tall. She passed her hearing and vision screening and is as healthy as can be.

At 3 years old, Evelyn...
loves wearing dresses and pretty shoes.
is a wonderful big sister to little Eleanor.
enjoys dance class and wearing her ballet slippers.
has quite the imagination and enjoys making up stories about a little brother named Gus.
thinks swimming lessons are a blast.
likes playing with her legos, baby dolls and princesses.
is a great helper in the kitchen and especially likes baking sweets.
enjoys being outside and can't wait to go camping with her daddy.
loves to read books and go to the library.
has a great time at preschool and often corrects our spanish pronunciation.

Let it snow!

We got just enough snow on Saturday to cover the brown grass... followed by a huge dump (upwards of 18 inches) of snow on Sunday!! We are so excited for the beautiful snow because that means we get to go SLEDDING!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Evelyn!

Evelyn has been talking about her birthday party for months...down to every last detail.

"I want ballons...a yellow one, a pink one, and a green one...and I want a chocolate birthday cake AND cupcakes with frosting and birthday candles...and I want my friends to come to my party...and a birthday hat too."

She has been to a few of her friends' birthday parties and got a pretty good sense of what it was all about.

"I want a new baby doll for my birthday."

On the morning of her birthday she nearly jumped out of bed squealing "I am 3 right now!" The excitement on her face was adorable.

At 11 o'clock sharp, family and friends joined Evelyn in celebrating her 3rd birthday with a party planned by the birthday girl herself, complete with chocolate cake AND cupcakes.
